On September 16, 2026, a public awareness program regarding the 'Dial 112' service and cyber safety was organized for citizens at a Ganpati Mandal within the jurisdiction of Alephata Police Station. The event was conducted by Woman Police Constable Jyoti Dahifale of the 'Nirbhaya Squad' (Alephata Police Station, Pune Rural) under the guidance of Police Inspector Vishwas Jadhav. Given the rising incidence of cybercrimes, detailed information and guidance were provided on various topics, including 'Digital Arrest,' UPI/QR code fraud, OTP/KYC scams, phishing, WhatsApp hacking, social media fraud, online shopping scams, job-related fraud, investment/trading scams, loan app fraud, and matrimonial fraud. Citizens were urged to immediately contact the national cyber helpline number '1930' and register complaints on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal in the event of cyber fraud. A 'Cyber Safety Pledge' was administered to the citizens, and everyone was encouraged to remain vigilant and spread awareness about cyber safety among their family, friends, and the community.
